Gala faraus is a dancer and choreographer based in brussels (BE). They first study politics at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in lille (FR) before pursuing a carrier in fashion retail in france, canada and finally berlin (DE) where they settle. They develop an intensive dance practice, first mostly in clubs and later at the Tanzfabirk movement school. in 2018 they enter the choreography bachelor program at the SNDO—school for new dance development in amsterdam. They develop a multidisciplinary practice revolving around the theme of self-reappropriation —sensorial and biographical, individual and collective— which they explore on stage, online, through film or during workshops. Each of their works exposes a possibility for thriving for their minoritarian peers and also nonconforms, in particular neurofragile and/or gender nonconforming.
In 2022 they create “TANA”, a stage piece for five dancers based on a collective pool of survival strategies, as well as the exhibition “Gala Farucci: the first retrospective in the netherlands” for which they invent the life of a fictive artist and speculate about the institutional future of stage arts.

Iel étudie d’abord à l’institut d’études politiques de lille (FR) avant de poursuivre une carrière dans le commerce de mode en france, au canada puis à berlin (DE) où iel s’installe. Iel développe une pratique de danse intensive, d’abord principalement dans les clubs et ensuite à l’école TanzFabrik où iel suit le programme “Dance Intensive” et se plonge pendant un an dans les pratiques somatiques et l’improvisation. iel commence aussi à créer et entre à l’école de chorégraphie sndo—school for new dance development à amsterdam (NL). Durant quatre ans iel développe une pratique multidisciplinaire orientée sur le thème de l’autoréappropriation —sensorielle et biographique, individuelle et collective— qu’elle explore avec les pièces “Survival Carousel”, “Some About Love”, “Last Crescent” mais aussi avec son jardin digital “Motor for Hope” et son film “Rural Trans*”. Chacune de ces pièces expose une possibilité de bien-être et d’empouvoirement pour ses pair_es minoritaires et non-conformes, en particulier neurodivergents ou de genre variant.
En 2022 iel crée “Tana”, une pièce pour cinq danseu_ces basée sur une panel collectif de stratégies de survie, ainsi que l’exposition “Gala Farucci: the first retrospective in the netherlands” pour laquelle iel travaille à la création d’une artiste fictive et spécule sur le futur institutionnel des arts de la scène.

Paca faraus is a choreographer and performer based in amsterdam, netherlands. As a late comer to performance making, her work revolves around self- and collective retrieval through pleasure practices, sensorial recovery, collectivisation of resources among her kinship, and exposure –skin, stories, biographies. Her uncanny performances browse existential topics of otherhood and recurrently disarticulate the theatre apparatus by mixing mediums, temporalities, formats and multiple displacements.
The numerous shifts, ruptures and paths featuring each of her works are a reflection of the lives, bodies and minds of most of her friends and peers.

2020
tim is a performer, choreographer and now filmmaker based in amsterdam, netherlands. They are mostly interested in the collective and individual survival strategies of non-conforming humans, in their reappropriation of their own body, story, agency and mental wellness.
After years sustaining themselves with day jobs in fashion retail, they decided to take intensive dance classes and were eventually accepted to a bachelor program in choreography at the School for New Dance Development in amsterdam.
On stage they mostly perform intimate solos featuring multiple influences, from somatic practices to fashion culture, from club dancing to popular entertainment like clowning, stand-up, cabaret or magic shows.
"Rural Trans*" is their first film.

2018

i am tim. Here are elements to introduce myself artistically to you. If asked to describe what my work revolves around, i mention my direct interest for how non-conforming people adapt to the world, through their (survival) strategies, collective healing, support and creative processes. Especially gender nonconforming and neurodiversepeople, which i also identify as.
In terms of how it artistically materializes, i would say that the common features of my works are nonlinearity, warmth, aspects of revealing and hiding, emotionality and imperfection, leaning towards DIY aesthetics. From other people describing my work i often notice the words “uncanny”, “honest”, "multilayered" or "vulnerable", which i appreciate.
